The price of the new Mahindra Thar CRDe is 9.25 lakh . The body structure provided is immensely strong and rigid . The SUV is equipped with the Borg Warner 4WD system which enhances its ability to tackle the toughest road conditions . It is available in following shades - fiery black , red rage , mist silver , rocky beige and diamond white

Dimensions and weight

The dimensions of the vehicle spans about 3920×1762×1930mm in length ,width and height . It has a wheelbase of 2430mm and ground clearance of 200mm . Kerb weight of the vehicle is 1750kg . Thar has accomodation for 6 persons . It has a fuel tank capacity of 60litres . The approach and the departure angle of the new thar CRDe are 44° and 27° respectively , which helps to deal with harsh road conditions .

Engine and transmission

The new Thar CRDe is unbeatable when it comes to power and performance . It supports a 2498cc NEF TCI - CRDe diesel engine which produces a max. power of 105bhp@3800rpm and max.torque of 247Nm@1800rpm . Mileage given is 13kmpl , has manual transmission and the Borg warner 4WD system . Bore stroke ratio is 94:90 .

Suspension , brakes and steering

Front suspension- IFS with torsion bar and stabilizer bar and Rear suspension - semi-elliptical leaf spring . Thar is eqipped with disc brakes for the front and drum for the rear . It has a minimum turning radius of 5.75metres and a power assisted (electric) steering .
Wheels and tyres - It has wheels with steel rims . Tyre size is 235/70 R16.

Exterior and Interior

Talking about the exterior part you can see a totally raw, rough and tough look. New redesigned canopy also adds up to the vehicle's appearance, which is removable. The new Thar CRDe is adorned with new resilient front and rear bumpers and strong wheel arches so the vehicle can withstand any damage. It also has a new clear lens and powerful headlamps. Not much for the interior but you get a dual-tone dashboard and multi-directional AC vents.

Comfort and convenience

For the comfort and convenience the new Thar CRDe is accentuated with wider front seats , door trims with arm rests , independent front suspension , windshield demister , lockable glove-box , 3-pod instrument cluster , and sude facing foldable rear seats .

Safety features/lock and security

The structure of the SUV is made strong and rigid to avoid possible damage . There are some more features like manual shift on fly 4WD , with low ratio , anti - locking hubs , digital immobilizer , and the new mechanical locking rear differential .
